4.1. Description of first aid measures

General information: Inhalation is not a primary route of exposure. The advice given there is of a general nature.

In case of contact with eyes: Hold eyelid wide open and rinse the eye out thoroughly with water. Consult an eye specialist if irritation persists.

In case of skin contact: Remove the product as far as possible with a clean soft cloth then wash the affected areas of the skin thoroughly with soap and water.

In case of ingestion: Arrange medical treatment for the affected person if necessary.

In case of inhalation: Help the affected person out into the fresh air. Consult a doctor if nausea persists.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

No known symptoms and effects to date.

4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment required

No known special measures to be taken other than the treatment of symptoms.

 

SECTION 5: Firefighting measures

5.1. Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: CO2, powder and foam extinguishers, water spray jet.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Full water jet.

5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

The product is only sold in small containers therefore no particular hazards are to be anticipated as a general rule. The product is combustible. Gases and vapours which are harmful to health and have an irritant effect are released during the incineration or thermal decomposition of the product.

5.3. Advice for firefighters

This advice relates to large fires only. Keep containers cool with water spray if they have been exposed to the fire. Use self-contained breathing apparatus and put on protective clothing in the event of a fire. Collect and dispose of firefighting water as far as possible.

6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Pick up small undamaged containers (tins, tubes, etc.). Take measures to stop the flow from any damaged containers and put on protective equipment before cleaning up any large spillages.

Take measures to prevent leakage into the drainage and water systems.

6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Clean up any spillages with a dry absorbent agent (sand, earth, universal binder, etc.) and dispose of residues as instructed in section 13. Clean the floor thoroughly.

Ensure adequate indoor ventilation at all times when using the product. Do not smoke while using the product. Precisely follow the instructions for use.

These measures relate to the storage of large quantities of the product. Store the product in the sealed original containers in a cool and dry place. Take appropriate measures to prevent the product from entering the drainage or water circulation systems in case of spillage. Do not store the product in the vicinity of food, beverages or feedstuff, and keep out of reach of children. Heed the storage class when storing large quantities or when storing in bulk. Storage class 11 under the classification system developed by the VCI, the German chemical industries association (1991).
